“I have done every sort of triathlon from a neighborhood sprint to a full Ironman, and I can say from experience that your race has the best spirit of any race anywhere. You really encourage the first-timers, but you also draw some excellent athletes. You reflect the light of Christ in the care you devote to the project and to the folks who come to race. We will keep coming back every year.” (C. Graebe)
“Your church was spoken very highly of and everyone remarked on how well staffed this event was and how well organized. They also commented on last year’s food being excellent.”
"Great Race. One of the most well organized and with the most friendly volunteers I've seen in 20+ years of triathlon."
Thanks again for the great Tri you guys put on each year. I wanted to send you a quick message to let you know how God is using your efforts.
About 4 weeks ago 3 of my teenage girls came up with the idea of doing a team triathlon at your event. Each competes in a different sport (one is a cyclist, one a swimmer, and the youngest does multisport), and they were thinking that it would be really fun to be able to race together. They knew about the prizes and the time bonuses but were doubtful (but still hopeful) that they could actually get on the podium. Last week we received an e-mail from one of our church's long time missionaries to Spain letting us know that the computer system at the seminary they work with had gone down. A gentleman had volunteered to fly over and fix everything for free but they needed money to buy the parts. My girls realized that this was a great opportunity and began to pray that God would bless their efforts and allow them to place in the triathlon. Well, as you know they placed 3rd in the team triathlon Saturday winning $700. To say that they were thrilled is a minor understatement. Each one of them felt that God had caused them to be able to turn in a strong performance and that the monies they had won were a part of His purposes. This was confirmed when we contacted the missionary. God had already provided all of the money minus $400. Yes, that last $700 finishes what was needed to get the seminary's computer system back up and running. What is more, if they had placed 4th we would have been $100 short. I cannot do anything but attribute this to a sovereign God's hand. I hope this encourages you and may God continue to bless your efforts! (T.A.)
This is the 5th year I’ve raced and I want to give some feedback. It’s a great course, super tough run, nice people, the absolute BEST post race food at any race (I race 10 a year so I’m experienced), and this year y’all had fine awards. (J.G.)
I have to say this was one of the best supported races I have ever done and I have done many. The volunteers were amazing. I think the whole church came out. A big thank you to all of them, I tried to thank several personally and asked them to pass on to other church members. The weather
was miserable, 7:00 am start next year????? The misting tent, ample water, and iced towels made it more bearable. I plan on returning next year. (A.D.)
I want to thank all of the people at the event. Everyone was so helpful and we are thankful to have been introduced to this event by Bob Chandler a few years ago. (M.B.)
Another year, another great event. You all do such an awesome job with this event every year....the volunteers are incredible! Thank you, thank you and thank you! (D.H.)
“Wow! What an event. Your church is amazing. They did a wonderful job and everyone was so friendly.”
