Triathlon Discontinued
After more than 20 years, Front Street United Methodist Church has made the difficult decision to discontinue the annual Buckner Mission Man Triathlon. All great things come to an end, and this event was certainly a great thing. BMMT raised $30,000–$40,000 each year to support non-profit organizations in Alamance County, making a meaningful impact in our community. And you were a part of that!
We want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to every sponsor, participant, and volunteer who made this event such a success. Thank you for being part of this journey with us!
The Buckner Mission Man Triathlon is held on the beautiful course of Lake Cammack Park & Marina located north of Burlington, NC. This sprint triathlon consists of three events: 750-meter lake swim, 15 mile bike, and 5K off-road run. It has become a favorite and very well attended event, with record setting participants of approximately 500, including approximately 200 volunteers, various vendors and enthusiastic spectator crowds.
